Is AetherLedger free?
Yes. AetherLedger is free to use. No paid subscription or AetherLedger account is required.
Is AetherLedger open source?
No. AetherLedger is free to use, but it is proprietary software and its source code is not publicly available.
Does it require an account?
No. AetherLedger does not have an application account, login, cloud profile, or subscription system.
Does it need my FFXIV login?
No. AetherLedger does not ask for or store Square Enix, Lodestone, or FFXIV login credentials.
Which regions and worlds are supported?
The packaged catalog covers supported Universalis regions, data centers, and worlds and refreshes reference data when online. You select one home world and may view all data centers in the selected region where the current workflow allows it.
Where does the market data come from?
Universalis supplies community-operated market-board observations. XIVAPI v2 supplies the item, recipe, job, gathering, and icon metadata used by implemented screens.
How current is the data?
Controlled REST synchronization hydrates or reconciles the local database. A single Universalis WebSocket keeps it current while AetherLedger runs. Every result shows freshness because provider data can be delayed or incomplete.
What happens when Universalis is unavailable?
AetherLedger keeps usable SQLite data visible and labels it stale, degraded, or offline. It does not replace cached evidence with invented values.
How long is market data retained?
You choose 1, 3, 7, 14, or 30 days. A strict database and application boundary prevents Universalis market observations from being retained for more than 30 days.
Can I clear locally stored data?
Yes. Settings separates “Clear market data” from “Clear metadata/icons.” Clearing market observations preserves preferences, reference metadata, icons, and watch rules.
Is AetherLedger affiliated with Square Enix?
FFXIV Market Tools is an unofficial, fan-made third-party application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd., Square Enix Co., Ltd., or FINAL FANTASY XIV.
Where can I download AetherLedger?
No approved public installer is available yet. The Release Status page is the only public availability destination on this site.
Where can I report a problem or get support?
No approved public support or issue-reporting destination is currently available. A public support channel is a launch requirement and this site will not expose a private source location as a substitute.
